Robert earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Toronto. After several years of working in the pharmaceutical industry, he went on to study Law at the University of Windsor. He articled at Murusik, Miller and Swain in Ottawa and moved on to establish a highly regarded criminal and family law practice in Milton, Ontario.
He is a member in good standing of: The Law Society of Upper Canada, The Criminal Lawyers' Association, The Area Committee for Legal Aid Ontario and The Halton County Bar Association. He also serves on Legal Aid Certificate specialty panels for Extremely Serious Criminal Matters, Gladue Court (for Aboriginal Canadians) and the Ontario Review Board.
Criminal Defence
We focus primarily on criminal law representation as well as civil litigation related to family and child protection law.

Robert has experience in all types of criminal matters including, but not limited to: assault, domestic assault, assault causing bodily harm, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit murder, criminal negligence causing death, robbery, weapons offences, theft, fraud, sexual offences, impaired driving and other crimes related to the operation of motor vehicles.
Media Protocol
We have considerable experience dealing with the media. Anyone charged with a serious criminal offence wants to reduce the amount of attention they will receive from the media.
It is Robert’s aim to ensure that his client’s exposure to the media is kept to an absolute minimum and their privacy is protected.
We have a planned protocol for dealing with high profile cases that often attract media attention.
You will not be charged for an initial review of your case and the circumstances surrounding it.
Fees will be charged only after all of your questions have been answered and you have made a formal decision to retain Robert Brooks as your defence attorney.
You will be given an estimate of expected charges and payment options will be discussed before you make a final decision about retaining legal counsel. Legal Aid Certificate cases are accepted.
Fees will depend on the nature of the charges you are facing and the unique circumstances of your case.
